In the high altitudes of Kumaon and Kinnaur, Wild Apricots (Chuli) grow abundantly. The fruit is eaten, but the real treasure lies inside the hard stone. The kernel is extracted and cold-pressed to produce 'Gutti ka Tel'. This oil has a nutty aroma and is considered a panacea for aches and pains. Pahadi elders massage their knees with this oil to combat the joint pain caused by the cold mountain winds. It is also edible and is used to make specific dishes, adding a rich, nutty flavor.

How to Cook: Chuli Oil Massage
