Hand-ground rock salt with herbs.
100% Authentic Hill Produce
Pisyu Loon (Ground Salt) is an art form in Uttarakhand. It is not just salt; it is a flavor bomb. Pahadi women hand-grind rock salt on a Silbatta (flat grinding stone) with fresh herbs like mint, coriander, garlic, ginger, and green chilies. The moisture from the herbs infuses into the salt, creating a colorful, aromatic seasoning. It turns a boring meal into a feast. There are many varieties: Hara Namak (Green/Mint), Lahsun Namak (Garlic), and Adrak Namak (Ginger). It is eaten with Rotis, sprinkled on salads, or licked plain for digestion.
Low Sodium: Uses rock salt which is healthier than refined salt.
Digestion: The herbs (mint/garlic) aid digestion.
Appetite: The spicy-salty taste stimulates hunger.
Cooling: Mint salt cools the body in summer.
